The Science Behind Angel Eyes Produce

Certified Organic Produce

Angel Eyes Produce is certified organic – which means our products are grown safely and naturally without the use of synthetic chemicals. In other words, they never come into contact with commonly used agricultural chemicals such as artificial fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides. The lack of pesticide use means there are fewer related health problems for both the consumers and the producers. Another advantage of organic farming is that it protects the environment from the adverse effects of synthetic chemicals, and sustains diverse ecosystems by reducing the potential effects of nearby agriculture.

Angel Eyes Produce organic vegetables are not preserved using food additives or processed with ionizing radiation; instead they are gently vacuum packed or carefully nestled in eco-friendly packaging to preserve the peak of freshness. In addition, our environmentally friendly organic methods use less energy and produce less waste than traditional farming methods.

Foreign Market Interference

Unfortunately, some of the organic products sold in the US are not as controlled and documented as many consumers believe. You may be surprised to learn that you can find USDA Certified Organic products which are imported from foreign countries like Mexico and China on the shelves of most local grocery stores. This is an alarming discovery; according to a 2003 FDA study, imported produce is approximately three times more likely to violate limits for pesticide residue than domestic produce.

Clearly, considering the recent toothpaste and pet food problems, China in particular has a problem with poor management of the raw materials actually used in commonly exported products, and it’s probably not the only country who doesn’t maintain strict standards. Therefore, it is reasonable to question exactly what Chinese government standards consider organic, and how it compares to American standards. Delving deeper, you’ll find an impossibly murky situation, because China not only has two rival clean-food standards, Green Food and Organic Food, but it also 21 separate agencies that claim the right to certify food as organic, each of which has it’s own guidelines for Certified Organic.

A Step Above Traditional Organic Produce

Angel Eyes Produce strives to avoid the problems of traditional farming and organic farming by providing locally grown Certified Organic foods to consumers year-round, thereby eliminating the spread of agricultural disease and empowering consumers with the complete knowledge of each vegetable’s journey, from seed to table.

All of the vegetables grown by Angel Eyes Produce begin their life in an indoor super-grow building. Unlike traditional organic crops, Angel Eyes Produce is protected from natural damage caused by disease, floods, fungus, mildew, fermentation, pests, or other problems that can plague outdoor farming facilities. The safe and healthy environment begins with the soil, which is sterilized and kiln-dried, then enriched with plant-specific nutrients to provide the optimum growing environment. The food is not affected by acid rain or pollution, because the controlled environment does not allow outside contaminants to enter the building.

The sterile, protected environment grows produce that is miles above anything you’ve ever seen or tasted before. Every tomato is perfect; juicy, ripe, red, extremely flavorful, not a single blemish. Our sweet basil releases an aroma and flavor that will transport you to Tuscany, and create the most delicious pesto you’ve ever tasted. The year-round rotations mean that virtually any produce can be available, no matter the time of year or state you live in.
