A Brand New Technology

Whole Foods cannot get enough local, organic produce, and they are not alone. Ashley Hawkins, a Whole Foods spokeswoman, says, “Our primary challenge at this time is that the demand of fresh fruits and vegetables — especially in organic form — is far outpacing the U.S.-grown supply.” Angel Eyes Produce’s super-grow building technology is capable of supplying locally grown produce year-round, in any climate.

The current design utilizes foam block building technology to insulate and protect plants from harsh temperature fluctuations, while keeping pests out. The building uses municipal power, and in areas which utilize hydroelectric or other forms of alternative energy sources, the energy consumption required to maintain the controlled environment inside does not contribute to global warming. In the future, Angel Eyes Produce super-grow buildings will have their own sustainable, non-carbon energy source.

Being able to grow vegetables locally year-round eliminates the need for long-distance shipping, reducing or eliminating transportation costs such as fossil fuel use, loss of nutritional value, and produce damage; the result is a lower bottom line and limited contribution to global warming.

Environmental Optimization

In an Angel Eyes Produce super-grow building, all environmental factors including temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide (CO2) levels, light cycles, and pests are carefully controlled in a sterile environment where pests, molds, fungus, and other hindrances to maximized plant growing conditions are essentially eliminated.

The air is HEPA filtered, and the building is pressurized to keep contaminants out. Each day a simulated sunrise wakes the plants up and a simulated sunset gently allows them to rest at the most optimum times, and the temperature is maintained at 72°F during the day and 64°F at night. There is no sun or moon interference to injure or confuse the plants and distract them from reaching their greatest potential yield.

Even the moisture in the air is 100% controlled. The dew point is electronically monitored; moisture is removed as necessary via dehumidifiers. This carefully maintained process uses 90% less water than traditional agriculture because the moisture is recycled from the air to the reservoir to the plant beds and back again. Produce is watered gently, through a simulated natural rainfall, and irrigation carefully controlled to maintain the perfect moisture level in the soil.

By the time a plant recovers from adverse conditions during a typical 4 or 6 month outdoor growing season, it provides very little fruit. As a result of the protected environment, the yield of Angel Eyes Produce far exceeds that of organic farming or even traditional farming. Through years of research, we have created the perfect lighting technology for each type of vegetable. The artificial lighting in super-grow buildings allows the plants to reach their maximum potential. Rather than wasting energy growing tall and spindly by continuously reaching towards natural light sources, plants grow outward with more fruit-bearing branches and the result is more delicious, bountiful harvests.

Angel Eyes Produce, Inc.’s Terra-Ponics technology is currently patent pending. In the future, we hope to develop energy efficient and completely self-sustaining buildings which are capable of providing entire communities, year-round, in any climate, with safe and healthy produce. Our goal is to sell this technology to the people of the world, and help stop the spread of disease between countries and states, as well as reduce dependence on fossil fuels due to the high transportation costs of long-distance produce shipping.
